Rector:
Tricia McCarthy
Tricia grew up in Denver, Colorado where she learned to love the outdoors and appreciate the beauty of God's creation. She attended Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa majoring in Mathematics and Religious Studies. At Loras, she was actively involved in Campus Ministry, served as an R.A., and was on the golf team. It was during this time she felt the Lord calling her to ministry and chose to continue her education through the Notre Dame Echo Program where she earned a master’s degree in Theology. Feeling drawn to journey with young adults she has worked in college campus ministry in North Carolina and Indiana. During her free time, she enjoys anything outdoors, wearing her chacos, befriending dogs, reading, dinosaurs, and has recently taken up running.
In reflecting on joining Residence Life as a Rector, Tricia said: “I am so excited to journey with the fine women of Farley Hall and live life with them! I am honored to be a part of one of the hallmarks of the Notre Dame experience. Community life is something that I have always been drawn to and has greatly shaped my faith and who I am. I love the comradery and joy that community life brings, and how it inevitably challenges us to grow and explore our own identity, beliefs, and how we can transform the world. I am looking forward to getting to know the women of Farley Hall, their traditions, and growing together in faith and fellowship."

Assistant Rectors:
Allison Magera & Shannon Gleba
Howdy finest! I’m Allison Magera and am very excited to start in Farley as an AR this year! Home is many places for me, but I’m proud to claim (the great state of) Texas as where I did most of my growing up. I graduated from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio in 2022 with a degree in theology and minors in visual communication design/music, and currently, I’m in my second year of the Master of Divinity program continuing my studies in ministry and theology. I love being with people to see them through the hard stuff in life, and when I’m not reading or writing for class I’m probably playing praise and worship with friends, going for a hike, or exploring small towns in Michigan. Looking forward to getting to know you all and sharing life with you soon!

Hey Farley! My name is Shannon Gleba, and I absolutely cannot wait to get started as one of Farley’s ARs this fall. I was born and raised in New Jersey, and graduated from Manhattan College in 2021 before heading to the Midwest. I am currently in my second year at Notre Dame Law School, and love all things ND. If I’m not reading for class, you can find me at Starbucks, working out at Orange Theory, or buying way too many snacks at Trader Joes. I look forward to meeting you all and sharing life this year! |
2022 -2023 Resident Assistants:
Brigid Burns (1A), Annika Barron (1B), Lauren Barry (2A), Emily Flittner (2B), Sofia Hernandez (3A), Natalie Schorr (3B), Julianna Whitecotton (4)
Hey finest!! My name is Brigid, and I’m so excited to be your 1A RA this year! I’m originally from Minneapolis, MN, and am majoring in Computer Science. Last semester, I was off campus in Palo Alto, CA participating in the last ever Silicon Valley Semester (rip), but I’m super pumped to be back at ND this year! On campus, I’m a TA for a junior-level CS course, I’m involved in undergraduate research, and I’ve played club softball, but honestly most of my time is spent staring at my computer screen in frustration when my code doesn’t work (which happens quite frequently). I love all things outdoors- hiking, camping, running, walking, hammocking, canoeing (ask me about the summer I spent in Maine and the Chaco tan lines that still haven’t faded). Of the five (5) dorms that I’ve lived in at ND (summers included), I would rank Farley #1 for cleanliness, #1 for community, and #1 in my heart. I can’t wait to meet you all and spend the best year in the best section of the finest dorm!!

HELLOOOO TO ALL OF POP FARLS’ FAVORITE PEOPLE! My name is Annika Barron, and I am the RA in 1b this year (AKA home of the “brouch”). I am from Wheaton, IL (suburbs of Chicago shocking I know) and I study Neuroscience and Behavior and Global Affairs with a concentration in Peace Studies! I have spent the last 7 months galavanting across 14 countries while studying abroad in Jerusalem and interning in Rome - I love all things travel so I would love to hear about any past or future adventures! I am SO excited to be back in the Bend and in Farley after so long - and to be in such close proximity to the dining hall with my strategically located room. Around campus you can find me working on research, hanging with the Global Health Club or department of sustainability, playing volleyball anywhere and everywhere I can (including on the club volleyball team), or occupying the dining hall for people watching purposes. I also LOVE coffee, so if you are ever in need of a caffeine boost I can whip up some espresso with my Moka Pot in the lovely Farley Kitchen. Anywayyyy I am super excited to get to know everyone better this year - see you soon!!

Hellooo Finest!! My name is Lauren Barry, and I’ll be the 2A RA this year. I am from just outside of Boston, MA, but I cannot wait to be back on campus with you all. I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering, and I’m involved in women’s club ice hockey and club field hockey. I love hiking, ocean swims, traveling, walking my two golden retrievers, and road-tripping with my siblings or friends (I’m wanting to go to every American National Park). I also love to watch or play most sports, but if you’re a Bruins fan you’ll have to let me know :) I spend my time at school hanging out with my roommates in Farley, playing hockey (or interhall broomball) over at Compton, or making smoothies and milkshakes in Farley’s own Cafe FarFar. I’ve lived in Farley all four years and am Farley Hall’s biggest fan. We have the best community, great location, fun events, and a hall dog— what more could you ask for?! I am so excited to meet you all and have the best year ever! Stay fine! :)

Finest!! My name is Emily Flittner and I am lucky enough to be the 2B (2-Best) RA this year!! 2B was my first home in Farley Hall, and I am a committed B-sider, so I am so excited to be back on the second floor! I am from Cincinnati, Ohio, and I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering. My favorite thing to do on campus is sharing life in Farley Hall (of course), but I’ve also tried my hand at boxing, broomball, and boat building! I love exploring new things on campus, so if you are ever looking for a buddy to go try something with - look no further! When I’m not in class, you might find me soaking up any sunshine I can find, hot girl walking, or trying to squeeze in an episode of my latest binge. I am also a coffee fiend, so make sure to stop by my room this year to share a cup with me!

Hello to the Finest residents a dorm could have! My name is Sofia Hernandez and I’ll be your 3A RA this year (pig not included). I’m from south Texas, if you want specifics I’m from McAllen, but I’ve been lucky enough to call Farley my home away from home. I’m majoring in chemical engineering, hoping to get a concentration in biomolecular engineering. I spend most of my free time doing research in Dr. Webber’s lab, but I also enjoy going to cycling classes in Duncan and of course sharing life in Farley Hall. Outside of school I’d like to say I’m an avid glamper (glamorous camper), bad fisherman, rom-com connoisseur, and horrible ranch hand (no actual ranch, just a house with a dog, pig, snake, rabbit, and turtle). I can’t wait to meet or continue getting to know you all this year! Never hesitate to reach out with questions about me/the community/campus or suggestions about what you would like to do more often as a section!

Hey finest!! My name is Natalie and I’ll be your 3B RA this year! I’m from Indianapolis, IN, and I’m double majoring in Finance and Theology. I studied abroad in Jerusalem in the spring, and I cannot wait to be back in the Bend in a few short weeks and see all of your lovely faces! On campus, I’m a TA for a couple of finance classes, but I spend most of my time gazing in awe at the dome from the window seat on the fifth floor of the library. When i’m not doing that, I love going on runs around the lake, making my morning coffee, and hanging out with friends on the quad. I’m also a huge fan of curating playlists for any mood - especially ones involving jazz or pharrell or 90s hip hop. This will be my first year in Farley, so I’m excited to become an avid fan of North Quad but i’m even MORE excited to meet you all and have the best year!!! (see photo above for a depiction of how excited i am)

Hey finest! My name is Julianna Whitecotton, and I will be your 4th floor RA this year (the best floor of course)! I am from outside Nashville, TN, but I’ve also lived in the Dallas and Chicago suburbs, so feel free to ask me where my favorite place to live has been (the answer may surprise you!) I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering and have a minor in bioengineering and have lived in Farley all 4 years now! My favorite thing about Farley is truly the people, but having a dog in residence, fun signature events, and an amazing location are great perks too. When I’m not in Farley you may find me wandering the halls of Fitzpatrick/Cushing Hall of Engineering, sipping coffee in Remick Hall (the ACE building) or Geddes (come talk to me about this if you like free food and coffee), shopping the aisles of Trader Joes, or taking sunset walks around the lakes. Outside of classes, I am heavily involved in EnableND, a club dedicated to designing and building prosthetic devices for people with limb differences. I also teach group fitness classes (dance fitness and now barre) at the gym on campus. Finally, it’s important you all know what a coffee enthusiast I am (hint hint…) I can’t wait to come share life with you all this year!
